The Different Forms of Pet Preservation
Bone Preservation
Bone preservation offers pet owners a meaningful way to create a lasting tribute to their beloved companions, preserving their memory in a tangible and enduring form. Bone preservation can range from a simple display of the pet's skull to an artistic arrangement of cleaned bones in a container for viewing, or even an articulation of the entire skeleton.
Fur, Paw, & Tail Preservation
For many pet owners, having their pet's fur preserved provides a tangible and lasting connection to their beloved companion. Fur preservation presents a range of gentle ways to honor and cherish your pet's memory. Families choose from diverse methods, such as shaping fur into paw prints, tails, or complete pelts, preserving whiskers and fur clippings, and crafting felted balls, all to lovingly remember their cherished pets.
Heart Preservation
People may choose heart preservation for their pets as a way to honor and remember their beloved companions in a unique and meaningful manner. The heart holds deep symbolic significance as the center of love, emotion, and connection. Preserving a pet's heart can serve as a tangible representation of the love and bond shared between the pet and their owner, immortalizing that connection even after the pet has passed away.
Wet Specimen Preservation
Wet specimens can be customized to reflect the unique characteristics and personality of the pet, such as the size, coloration, and even positioning within the fluid medium. When properly prepared and cared for, wet specimens can last longer than you, serving as a lasting tribute to the pet's memory and providing a source of comfort and reflection for pet owners.
The Process and Duration of Bone Preservation
After your pet has passed away, the initial step involves carefully preparing the remains. This includes the removal of excess tissue to ensure a clean and respectful starting point. To preserve the delicate skeletal structure, we employ a method using dermestid beetles. These small, harmless insects have a unique ability to efficiently clean bones. Following the beetle cleaning, we undertake a degreasing process to eliminate any remaining fats and oils. This step is crucial for long-term preservation and stability of the bones. The Process May Vary between 6 months to 14 months depending on the service you liked to get done.

Pet Aftercare
We understand the importance of time following the passing of your pet. Please take all the time you need to grieve. However, it's important to be mindful that the body may begin to degrade rapidly. We advise preparing in advance, ensuring you have space to freeze your pet until you're ready for transportation or able to arrange shipping. When handling the body:
• Wear latex gloves
• Clean around various openings if you notice bodily fluids being released
• Use a blanket, towel, or sheet to wrap the body in. We know this could be difficult to do please consider asking a friend or family to help.To store your pet for Memorial Service, arrange the body in a curled position, wrap it securely using a blanket and plastic bag, depending on your pet's size, this can range from a gallon-sized Ziploc bag to a large garbage bag, securely tied or taped on both ends and then place the remains in a freezer. If you have a larger pet, consider utilizing a chest freezer. Alternatively, if space is limited, inquire at your local veterinary clinic about the availability of freezer storage, as many establishments have dedicated facilities for this purpose. Your pet can stay safely frozen, ideally at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, for a duration of up to one year. This generous time frame allows you the space and time to carefully consider your plans without worrying about your pet's well-being during this period.
Step 7:
Tie that bag up. If you'd like to you can place your pets toys, blankets, or anything you'd like to ship with them on top of that bag (you will get all of these items back). If there is any extra space please fill it with insulation, paper, or bubble wrap to keep your pet from bouncing around.
Step 8:
Ship your pet with overnight or 2-day shipping. Anything over 2 days will run the risk of your pet thawing and starting to decompose which can be a problem if you want any fur related items preserved. On the outside of your box you can write "perishable frozen item'' if you'd like to. If usps, fedex, or ups asks what the boxes contents are you can also tell them it's a frozen perishable item.
